GM Nationals

Post by twomanymontes » Mon Jun 25, 2018 9:52 pm

Got back last night from Carlisle.

Have to say, mixed feeling about this show. It’s really going down hill. Everyone said it was a great show years ago, but over the last 3 years, attendance has dropped. This weekend”s weather has lots to do with it I’m sure.

Although, it was a lot of fun hanging out with good friends from all over the country. And after 3 years, my 86 SS got an award! 3rd place in the 78-88 Monte Carlo Modified. Tim took 1st in our class. And yesterday, while getting the award, Matthew spotted my 01 SS on the poster for next years show!

Not sure if we will go back next year, so we will have to see what the future brings

I think the last Carlisle I went to was in 2007 or 2008. It was with my red Camaro. Camaros had their own event at Carlisle. I’m not sure how long ago it was but the Camaro Nationals broke away from Carlisle and has their own annual show in Frederick, MD now.
You’ll have to recommend some good out of state shows for when my TA is done.
