Hilton Apple Fest

Post by petegee77 » Sat Sep 13, 2014 6:57 pm

You KNOW it was just a question of when I was going to post this. LOL
Anybody planning on going this year? It's October 4th. Last year was great as we caravaned there in the rain and even went past Clint's house, although he would not come out to play. :(
For anybody who has not been there before it's a great IMHO event. Tons of different car classes plus the apple festival itself with 100+ craft vendors, 10 types of food plus music. By far my favorite show of the year.
Just google Hilton Apple Festival and check it out and download an application.

Were playing it by ear. Last years weather really killed the mood. But yeah, all of us cruising out together was a blast!

We'll just have to see what happens when it gets closer

It's always a tough decision for me because a craft brewery out here always has a beer fest that same day. Would be nice to see everyone though.

I fully understand Dave. It was a blast though and if we can get Clint to go it would be even better. I already registered so there's one Motley Cruiser in the show. Wonder how many we need to beat out the Street Machines for club participation. ;)

Perhaps we could persuade the brewery owner that it would be in his best interest to perhaps move the beer fest to another day. 8-)

Well, it's official. I'm out.

Were getting behind at work and I can only hold off the inevitable for so long. Starting the 4th I get to come in and replace a head gasket on a fork lift. Then its get the runner cars back in running order. I guess the kid that comes in on Saturdays isn't working out and can't be trusted to do the larger jobs.

Sorry guys, but overtime isn't always available and I need to grab it when I can.

Fully understandable Dave but it just won't be the same. Is Matt or either of the kids going ? :(

I kind of doubt it Pete, they don't seem to want to travel with out me.

I'm trying to get things caught up at work. So maybe I might be able to make it.

Pete - you still going to the apple fest? Looks like it's gonna rain tonight and be mid 50s tomorrow with more rain. Playing it by ear right now but let me know if you'll be there.

YES I will, Lord willing, absolutely be there. One reason I preregister , it MAKES me go. Yeah weather sounds like a bummer but then again that's pretty much what we had last year.

Started raining here about 3:30 just as I was 1/2 way through washing the PT. Figures. We'll see what the morning brings.

Thanks Dave. What would have taken you and Clint about 3 minutes took me about 3 hours total but it was well worth it.
Ro and I already have the rain gear out and ready to go.

If I go I probably won't be there until the afternoon sometime. I'll give you a call if I'm able to stop by.

I tried calling your cell from the show but you were on the phone at the time so I couldn't leave a message.

Got back from Hilton about 7:20 after stopping in Brockport to eat. Rainy morning followed by sun but high winds. The kind of wind that rips right through you. Matt and I got caught in a brief rain shower that came out of no where but within 15 minutes the sun was out again. All total there were something like 293 cars there. Nice to spend some time with Matt who I don't see that often. Since there were only 3 cars in the 86 to present stock category Matt and I were assured of getting a top 3 award which we did. lol Matt took 2nd and I took 3rd. Seriously , Matt's Monte should have had 1st since it was twice as nice and twice as clean as the car that won our class. Got to see Tim and the girls which is always nice.
